I’m Back

April 13, 2008

I’ve only been gone for a few weeks, but this page seems to have changed. Maybe I’ve just forgotten what it looked like before. Everything seems a little different.

I’m working on Thing 14, del.icio.us and social networking. One of the possibilities was bubbling pictures. My effort will be to show the terror I experienced when hiking in the Cinque Terre. I have a real height thing, but I do like to hike. So, we decided to hike from Riomaggiore to Corniglia, the easiest part. Well, my goodness. I clung to the cliffs and looked at the flowers as others were sauntering by. My favorite was the old man with his dog who skipped past me and said in Italian “Watch your feet.” You betcha.

Now, I’m trying to get back to these 23 Things. I bubbled a photo, and see where that could be fun. The tags for photos and fun were interesting. I kept thinking about my biggest complaint about a digital camera. It doesn’t take the picture that you think you are taking — it’s a moment later. So, I just keep shooting and hoping I’ll get something as good as in Catch the Moment. I usually don’t.

So, I googled photos, and how many million hits? I wonder how certain things get to be in the top 10. I’m afraid photos and fun are a bit too vague to be useful google searches.

This del.icio.us account may be helpful. I have a bunch of activity, poems & fingerplay ideas bookmarked at home, and yet sometimes I’m at the library and planning storytime. It’d be nice to have resources wherever I am. HMMM.

It would be very useful for our patrons because our Gates computers don’t save anything. Makes me think about how I can be sharing with patrons all this stuff I’m learning.

Have to go feed the sheep. They were shorn on Wednesday, and they still don’t quite recognize each other. I’m not surprised.Beastie before Beastie after
